The conductivity of sodium ion battery is also still below its competitor. In this research, cathode of sodium ion battery is synthetize using simple sol-gel method with addition of chitosan as binder to increase its conductivity. <br /> <br /> NaFePO4 is synthetize using sol-gel method with NaCl, (NH4)2HPO4, and Fe(NO3)3.9H2O as precursor and then calcinated at 600oC (based on analysis of Thermogravimetric-Differential Thermal Analyzer (TG-DTA)). Characterization of this compound is done using X-ray Diffraction (XRD). Conductive material, graphite, is added to the compound with 3% concentration. The effect of organic binder chitosan addition to NaFePO4 conductivity was tested by adding various concentration of chitosan, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, dan 10%. Conductivity is tested by multimeter and further characterization is done by Scanning Elektron Microscopy (SEM). <br /> <br /> Na3Fe2(PO4)3 was synthetized using sol-gel method at 600oC. Optimum increase of conductivity was shown in the variation of 4% concentration of chitosan, 4,52x10-8 S/cm in sample without addition of conductive material, and 2,77x10-8 S/cm in sample with addition of conductive material graphite in 3% concentration. text
