<p align="justify">Embung is another term for small dams. Small dams are dams that do not meet the requirements of large dams. Retention basin is a basin that is used to regulate and accommodate the supply of rainwater flow and to improve the quality of water in related water bodies (rivers, lakes). Embung is used to maintain groundwater quality, prevent flooding, for aesthetics, and irrigation. With the establishment of an airport in Banyak Subdistrict, Kediri Regency, East Java, where the Runway Strip passes over two rivers, it requires river diversion with the use of channel culvert channel. With flood discharge the 100-year plan. With the sewer channel box culvert under the airport it actually has enough capacity to pass the flood. However, ponds should still be built, considering that according to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26 / PRT / M / 2015 concerning the Transfer of River Flow and / or Utilization of River Used Stations, natural river diversion can be carried out as long as the land area of the moved river is replaced with land as large as land transferred. This replacement land can be a new river or water conservation area where in this case it is a reservoir. In addition to having a function as a conservation building, this embung also has a function to reduce flood peak even though it is not effective and functions as a tourism.<p align="justify">
