Summary: | The service sector is one of the most affecting factors in the growth of world economy and one of the service sectors that have been growing in Indonesian society is MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions). The MICE sector which important to be studied was the Wedding Organizer. The one of the Wedding Organizer in Bandung was Pride Wedding Organizer (PWO) which founded in August 2011. PWO hired their employee as the part-timer and they have the problem with the high turnover which affected to their performance. This problem became crucial because all of the employees of PWO were hired as the part-timer. The owner felt that this problem occurred because of the low level of employee engagement. Thus, the purpose of this research is to measure and analyze to improve the driver factor of employee engagement in PWO.
This research used the quantitative method which used the questionnaire as the primer data. The type of questionnaire that used was Internet-based Questionnaire. This type was selected because of the presence of respondents who spread across various regions and the difficulty to find the same time. This research mentioned three models of employee engagement; Gallup Q12, Aon Hewitt, and Development Dimensions International (DDI). The Gallup Q12 Model was selected as the tool to measure the part-time employee since this model was the completed model comparing to others.

As the methodology, the researchers used the Multi Linear Regression analysis to find the most affecting factors and the radar chart to find the gap between the current level and owner’s expectation. The reliability test showed that there were two variables which less reliable so that those variables were deleted to improve the reliability of the data. Based on MLR analysis, the dominant variable was Learn & Grow and there were two variables which have negative equation; Progress and Development. Based on the radar chart, there were five variables under the expected point; Option Count, Progress, Recognition, Expectation, and Development.

The research showed that the owner expectation who stated that PWO’s employees had the low engagement level was not proved since the level of employees was as engaged as the owner’s expectation. In order to improve the part-time employees, this research recommends to PWO to improve the variables which have the gap under the expected point of owner’s expectation and did not improve the variables which have negative equation based on MLR analysis. So, the variables that need to be improved were Options Count, Recognition, and Expectation. PWO could improve those variables by involving the employees in the decision making, be respect, give the employees positive feedback and praises, and ask for their ideas and opinions. |
