Description
Summary:Skywalk helps pedestrian move easier between buildings without having to go up

and down stairs. However, these conditions create various problems on the ground

floor retail stores. Some pedestrians choose to use the skywalk and it becomes a

new central activity for pedestrians, impacting reducing retail store revenue on the

ground floor. The existence of this skywalk is expected to provide convenience,

safety, and comfort for pedestrians. Skywalk Teras Cihampelas provides a new

attraction for Bandung society. The influence of this new attraction is expected to

bring more visitors to Cihampelas. But without adequate parking space, the

skywalk will add new traffic problems along the Cihampelas street corridor.

There’s plan to extend the skywalk to 400m - 600m, whereas until now there has

been no evaluation after the skywalk development to assess the impact of the

development of Skywalk Terrace Cihampelas, and also the skywalk development

does not have feasibility study in the Cihampelas area. The purpose of this research

are first, to evaluate skywalk post-development (ex-post) design because the

skywalk design plan and feasibility assessment were not found. Second, assessing

how the impact / benefit because the impact of post-development has yet known.

The method of analysis used in this study is quantitative, begins by collecting

information about the purpose of the skywalk, then look for variables to be

measured / assessed through simple statistical tests. The method of analysis

performed for this research is evaluative. The results of design evaluation

normative-based with the perception of the users and the people affected by the

development have differences in some criteria. Overall, the results of the

evaluations of social impacts has neutral value, the results of the evaluations of

economic impact evaluations has neutral value and the results of the evaluations of

environmental impacts has low positive value.
