Summary: |
Bobotsari is an area in Purbalingga District, West Java. The aim of this study is to understand the characteristics of Bobotsari and its surrounding area by doing a geological mapping within area of 64km2 located in 9190000-9198000 mS dan 318000 – 326000 mT WGS 84 Zone -49s The methods of the research consist of

geological mapping and data analysis in the laboratory.

Based on morphology and processes that occur in the study area, then the area is divided into six units of geomorphology, namely Volcanic Hill Unit, Homocline

Hill Unit, Homocline Valley Unit, Syncline Hill Unit, Anticline Valley Unit and Flood Plain Unit. Mostly drainage patterns of the river in Bobotsari and

surrounding area are U shape. Geomorphology of studied area is mature geomorphic stage. Based on lithological characteristics of rocks found in the study area, geological research area is divided into six lithological units namely Pyroclastic Breccia Unit, Sandstone-Mudstone Unit, Mudstone Unit, Sandstone Unit, Laharic Breccia

Unit, and Alluvial Plain Unit. The first deposited unit was Pyroclastic Breccia Unit comparable with Kumbang Formation. Then, based on the analysis of small

foraminifera observed in hand specimen, Sandstone-Mudstone Unit was deposited aligned above the Pyroclastic Breccia Unit in the Early Pliocene age and have depositional environment Middle Neritic. Mudstone Unit aligned above

the Sandstone-Mudstone Unit in the Middle Pliocene age and have depositional environment Middle Neritic. Sandstone Unit was deposited aligned above the Mudstone Unit in the Middle Pliocene age and have depositional environment

Middle Neritic. Based on Laharic Breccia Unit lithological characteristics of the study area, the unit is comparable with Mount Slamet Lahar Deposit aged Pleistocene until Holocene and was deposited not aligned above Sandstone-

Mudstone Unit, Mudstone Unit, and Sandstone Unit.

Geological structures that developed in this area were obtained in the form of a fold and strike-slip fault. These structures were estimated begin at Late Pliocene

age and were affected by regional structure Java Type.
|
