CBM consist of coal as the main component of the rock where gas adsorbed through the matrix in coalification process. CBM Reservoir is often found with the communication with aquifer where the effect of it tends to maintain the reservoir pressure and slowing the decrease of reservoir pressure, thus takes longer to reach desorption pressure of methane and affecting the productivity. To overcome it, horizontal well is installed as “sacrifice well”, that is producing most of the water continuously to decrease the pressure and speeding the desorption time of gas. Moreover, CO2 has grater affinity on coal than methane, thus it can displace methane. CO2 injection can also become other solution to this problem. With this paper, the writer do simulation study technically to investigate the effect of aquifer strength with productivity and dewatering time, simulates scenario using horizontal well as “sacrifice well”and CO2 Injection 5 spot pattern to overcome this problem of CBM reservoir that associate with aquifer. text
