| Summary: | <p align="justify">Individuals have an important role in a company because with individuals learning from external sources allows companies to absorb, manage, and use the knowledge gained and help companies achieve innovation. The problem faced by IT startup in Indonesia is that individuals in IT startup still consider the policies and regulations in the company as a formality, so the company's policies and regulations do not work properly which make the company less ready to face the free competition. To answer the problems faced, this research proposes individual capability which is divided into three factors: individual intelligence, individual and situational context, and individual creativity. Individual capability will affect absorptive capacity which is the company's ability to identify, absorb, and utilize knowledge. The results of the study show a strong influence of individual capability factors on the absorptive capacity level in IT startup companies that will ultimately help IT startup companies achieve innovation. <p align="justify"> <br />
