Tanjung Emas Port as one of Urban Place in the coast of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> city has the potential to be designed as an attractive location in line with the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> implementation process of Port Master Plan. One of the design approaches that <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> can be used is the Placemaking approach. Until 2018 Tanjung Emas Port has not <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> yet simulated the design of area using Placemaking approach. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis aims to simulate the design of Tanjung Emas Port Passenger Terminal <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Area with Placemaking approach through qualitative descriptive method and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> synoptic design flow. With this method, developed three alternative design <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> concept for the Port of Tanjung Emas. Then those three alternative concepts are <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> selected by one of the best using Goals Achievement Matrix (GAM) for area <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> design simulation. Based on the criteria of design variables that consider to <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Placemaking approach then simulated the design of area with Vibrant Seafront <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> concept. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis shows the simulation of Urban Place design on the coast of Semarang <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> City which further enhances the vitality of Port of Tanjung Emas as a sea <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> transportation facility by adding new activities. The image of the area as a <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Waterfront location in the coastal city of Semarang is changed by simulating the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> design of attractive physical space and more adequate to accommodate the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> addition of new activities such as commercial activities, leisure, public open <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> space service, and tourism. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: urban waterfront, placemaking, port planning, urban design.<p align="justify"> text |
