Some extreme wave phenomena have been proved affecting the activities in the port, for example, Merak-Bakauheni ports were closed due to extreme wave induced by Cempaka and Dahlia tropical cyclones. These cyclones also increased sea water level which then flooded the port platform. According to these facts, the study of physical properties of the sea, particularly the waves, is crucial for constructions and establishments of the ports, by which the future risk related to passenger safety and port structures durability can be reduced. This final project aims to model wave characteristics in Sunda Strait around Merak Port using hydro-dynamical modeling. The modeling is done by the numerical method using SWAN (Simulating Wave Nearshore) software version 41.01 with three different conditions, namely west monsoon, east monsoon, and extreme condition. From the results of wave modeling, it shows that maximum significant wave height covering all area of the model domain during west and east monsoon as well as extreme condition are 1.14 meters, 1.16 meters, and 1.19 meters respectively.<p align="justify"> text
