Summary: |
Indonesia has the third largest geothermal reserve in the world, there are 285 geothermal prospect point spread in Indonesia which is generally located close to the volcano area. This research is focused on mapping the subsurface of Mount Tangkuban Parahu to find out the distribution of geothermal prospect by using gravity method. The gravity method took advantage of the different value of gravity at each measurement point that caused by the arrangement of rocks beneath the surface of the earth which have different density values. The data obtained from the field is processed by performing various corrections so that there is a complete bouger anomaly value which shows the distribution of gravity anomaly value in the area, then modeling by Talwani method to know the subsurface condition. From the model that has been made, then do the interpretation to know the type of the rocks and mapping the location of geothermal reservoir in the research area. The result obtained average density value of the research area is 2.44 gr/cm3. While the modeling results obtained three layers of subsurface, sandstone layer with density 2.44 gr / cm3, clay layer that has density 2.2 gr / cm3, and andesite layer with density 2.6 gr / cm3.
