PT STLJ always strives to maintain and guarantee the quality of products that will be produced. However, currently the company still has not been able to reach the defective product target of 0,05%, one of the products is the KZL Shaft Main Stand. Percentage of defective products KZL stand main shaft reached 0,70% and the percentage of repair products reached 8,37%. The number of defective products and repair products causes losses of time and costs for the company. Therefore, this study aims to provide alternative solutions to reduce defective products by improving product quality. The method used to improve product quality is the Six Sigma method through the stages of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC). <br /> <br /> In the define phase, the formulation of the problem is the observation of the KZL stand main shaft product, and the selection of the defect type using the Pareto diagram. The types of defects selected include, nonstandard dimensions, wrong pins, and nonstandard diameters. The measure phase, measured process stability and process capability. Measurement of process stability uses a map control approach that shows the results that the process has been stable. Meanwhile, the measurement of process capability shows that the company's sigma level is 3,460 sigma. Phase analyze, identification of critical factors using Delphi method and FMEA methods. These critical factors include jig care, operator accuracy and work methods, hygiene, attention points. In the improve phase, alternative solutions were provided, including repairing maintenance procedures jigs, making jig checksheets, jig modification, and visual display design. In the control stage, control of the implementation of alternative solutions has been carried out. text |
