Summary: |
Research on the waters of Gunung Anak Krakatau was carried out using field data on 11-12 September 2017 and April 16-19 2018 by conducting laboratory tests for chlorophyll-a and TSS parameters. In the field data, the chlorophyll-a and TSS concentration values have a greater value in April 2018 due to the wet deposition process that occurs from the volcanic activity of Mount Anak Krakatau. The field data is used as an algorithm manufacturing process for Landsat 8-OLI imagery in 2017-2018 for the same parameters. Chlorophyll-a correlation with satellite image has a R value of 0.687. While the correlation between TSS and the image has a R value of 0.669. The algorithm for chlorophyll-a relies on a combination of log (green) / log (NIR) with a variable constant value of x 0.1496 and a free constant of 0.8651, while for TSS it depends on the band log (green) with a variable constant value of x 0.4699 and free constants -1.4699. Chlorophylla concentration has a high value in the MAM and JJA seasons, while the low value is in the DJF season. The spatial distribution pattern of chlorophyll-a has a low value of 0.865 mg/m3 and a high value range of 1.8 mg/m3. While the temporal distribution pattern has an average mean value that is only around 0.9-1 mg/m3. The spatial and temporal distribution patterns of TSS have a low dominant value in each season with a range of 0-0.2 mg/m3. Krakatau has a slightly different characteristic from the surrounding area, where the estimated chlorophyll-a value around Krakatau ranges from 0.8 to 1.8 mg/m3, while according to Yitno (2015) in the Sunda Strait waters the chlorophyll-a value ranges from 0.16 to 0.77 mg/m3. As well as the effect of volcanic activity that can affect the value of chlorophyll-a and TSS concentrations. The advantage of Landsat 8-OLI imagery is that it is able to describe the distribution of waters in a small study area and can see changes temporally well.
