Description
Summary:<p align="justify">Hermetia illucens (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) is a black soldier fly (Black Soldier Fly) whose larvae can be utilized as organic waste biocompatible agents. The bioconversion process can produce leachate water that can be used as liquid organic fertilizer and hydroponic nutrients. A study of leachate effect of bioconversion of fruit and vegetable waste as hydroponic nutrient solution on romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.var. longifolia) in floating hydroponic system at screen house ITB Jatinangor. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of leachate from bioconversion of Hermetia illucens larvae as a source of hydroponic nutrition to vitamin C quality, moisture content, fiber, and consumer preference on romaine lettuce (L. sativa L. var. longifolia). Lindi ex BSF and AB-Mix were used as a hydroponic nutrient solution and made five (5) treatments, ie 100% AB-Mix solution, 75% AB-Mix solution: leachate solution 25%, 50% AB-Mix solution: leachate solution 50 %, a 25% AB-Mix solution: a leachate solution of 75%, and a 100% leachate solution. Each treatment was used five (5) plants and repeated five (5) times. The results of the water content showed that romaine lettuce (L. sativa L. var. longifolia) with AB-Mix solution 25%: leachate solution 75% had the highest value (92.1%) and significantly different from the treatment of AB-mix solution 100% and 100% leachate solution (Duncan test P <0.05). The highest fiber content was found in 75% AB-Mix solution: 25% leachate solution with value 1.32 g / 100 g and the highest vitamin C content was found in 50% AB-Mix solution: 50% leachate solution with 68.3 mg / 100 g. Organoleptic analysis showed that 100% AB-Mix treatment had the highest mean value (texture, color, taste, and consistency) with 2,43 (Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney test P <0,05).<p align="justify">
