Summary:Global climate change has long been the world’s most important issue during recent years, giving a potential threat to our planet and the harboring life depends on it. Therefore, such an alternative energy resource that provides cheap and clean energy is preferred to compete with and slowly substitute the use of fossil fuel. Geothermal energy, along with solar energy, wind, biofuel, and nuclear has become one of many options regarding this matter. Geothermal energy can provide low CO2 and non-condensible gas emission. Hydrothermal reservoir gives heat from its trapped fluids. The heat can be transferred and produce if the reservoir has adequate permeability. Permeability can be made by making a fracture on the reservoir. This operation can be done by doing hydraulic fracturing. Thus, to get desired well productivity, hydraulic fracturing should be conducted to enhance permeability. <br /> <br /> This paper will study about sensitivity of proppant size and reservoir temperature of hydraulic fracturing in geothermal water-dominated well. Reservoir temperature and proppant size has a different effect on hydraulic fracturing, which the former is more sensitive.Change in reservoir temperature and proppant size will affect the result hydraulic fracturing operation. This paper suggest to use 12/18 Carbolite proppant in reservoir temperature below 400 oF and to use 16/20 Carbolite proppant in reservoir temperature higher than 400 oF.
