Description
Summary:
Coastal areas are transitional areas between terrestrial and marine ecosystems that are affected by changes on land and sea. Coastal areas have many resources such as fishery resources in the form of fish, coral reefs, seaweed, corals, and so forth. The fishery resources are one of the resources in the development of fishery-based areas or the Minapolitan Region. But now, the coastal region is experiencing a decline in environmental conditions caused by climate change. Climate change resulted in sea level rise that triggered coastal flood disaster (IPCC, 2014). Coastal Inundation Hazard (Coastal Inundation Hazard) is one of the flood disasters that occur in the coastal areas due to various factors such as sedimentation, sea level rise, wind-waves, etc. The coastal inundation hazard causes physical and environmental damage to the coastal areas. Kecamatan Cilamaya Wetan is one of the sub-districts which are some coastal areas such as Sukakerta, Rawagempol Kulon, Muara Baru, and Muara. These areas are also affected by coastal flooding, especially in the fishery areas. Taking a case study of coastal area of Cilamaya Wetan subdistrict, this study aims to analyze the risk level of coastal flood disaster in the area and to know the impact of coastal flood disaster both physical and economic and its implication to condition of fishery area of Kecamatan Cilamaya Wetan. Kecamatan Cilamaya Wetan of 805.23 hectares with the highest disaster hazard area in the village of Muara with an area of 574.5 hectares. Of the total flooded areas, the damaged and stagnant fisheries area of 632.76 hectares. The damaged fishery areas are fish farming ponds and tiger shrimp belonging to the community and fishermen around. The damages of ponds that occurred in the form of fish and shrimps were carried away by flood, siltation of tambak area due to the deposition of mud that was flooded, the availability of fresh water is reduced, and the garbage entering the pond area.
