This is one of them caused by the dominant culture of the majority community, such as using only the state language in the education system. Then resulted in marginalized regional languages. Peeping on the island of Java, there are 8 languages including Sundanese languages that the rate of extinction more quickly due to less developed Sundanese art and culture. Through cultural art of course the local language will always be spoken. Therefore, the need for preservation of Sundanese art and culture, one of which is Pupuh Sunda. Pupuh Sunda is an old poetry adaptation of Javanese poetry that is currently still taught in elementary school of West Java, but only glimpse and less effective when looking at the characters of children now who like interactive things. The pupils listed in the student handbook have gone through the process of modifying the theme of the book lesson. In fact, actually Pupuh Sunda have a variety of types that each carry a message of life to their children. Therefore, the problem would be appropriate if resolved by the design of Augmented Reality (AR) book of Pupuh Sunda about morals, with the target audience of elementary school students aged 9-12 years (3rd-6th grade) economy class SES AB-B domiciled in the city of Bandung is also a city in West Java. In undertaking this design, the first step is to collect data with literature study method of Pupuh Sunda, children's book and AR. In addition, a theory study is needed to analyze and execute the final visual. The theory is children's book theory; Piaget Cognitive Development (Concrete Operational Stage); Graphic Design Principles and Illustrations; AR Principle. The theories are used in analyzing the text of the object of art research of Pupuh Sunda, as well as visual analysis on children's book illustrations. Visual analysis takes the 2013 Student Curriculum and the children's book "The Cat in the Hat". Then the analysis produces a formula for use when designing a visual, one of which is important to remember that because the target audience is grade 3-6 primary school, the picture on the book serves as a complement and clarify the text because the competence skills still need the help of concrete elements. Also, the characters and the atmosphere created in the illustrations are connected with the analogy of everyday life of the child. Establishing the concept of a modern, friendly, fun children's book, the book entitled "Pupuh Katineung Abdi" can be an alternative solution in preserving and developing Sundanese art and culture through modern, easy, fun, and also deep-rooted techniques and Sundanese language. text |
