DYNAMIC MODELING SYSTEM THE EFFECTS OF GREEN OPEN AREAS TOWARDS REDUCING GREEN HOUSE GASES (CO AND NOX) EMISSION OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN JAKARTA CITIES

The continual growth of vehicles in Jakarta from year to year has been very rapid in the last 10 years, condescending to the emissions that has been produced which haven’t been able to be contained by the available emission absorbing technology. In this particular research, on the emission inventarisation, dynamic modelling system is used to engineer a model which contains the age of the vehicles based on sub-populations (cohort model) along with the ability to filter emissions by plants in green open area compatible with the emission absorbtion capacity of green house gases (CO and NOx) per year to predict the emission from vehicles projected until 20 years from now to conclude a policy that can reduce emission in Jakarta. Research shows that after converted to CO2 equivalent, motorcycles contribute the most in CO emissions at an estimated 89,59% of the total CO emission. NOx emission is mostly affected by Heavy Duty Vehicle Type by around 55,84%. With the first scenario modeling, the decline in global warming potential values of greenhouse gas emissions for CO and NOx are in the order of 3282,133 kton CO2 equivalens and 75863,2 kton CO2 equivalent and totaling 79145,33 kton of CO2 equivalent. The ability of absorption from trembesi trees to absorb up to 90% of CO emissions generated by motor vehicles when using 12% of green space in Jakarta City in scenario 2 and able to reduce the potential of global warming of 659,027 kton CO2 equivalent. In scenario 3, the model of vehicle mileage reduction, total CO modeled can be totally eliminated, but over time, the emissions increase due to the increase in the number of vehicles per year. The total reduction of the global warming potential of all scenarios comprising a policy on emission factor replacement to the latest euro standard, trembesi absorption, and reduction of vehicle mileage is 81610,23 kton CO2 equivalent. text
