Consumption water have to appoint 3 aspects, quality, quantity, and continuity, thus it needs a water treatment plant. Increasing number of Surakarta City population has caused in increasing consumption rate of water. If the water supply can’t fulfil the increasing demand, it will become huge problem. One of the solution of this problem is doing uprating on a water treatment plant that has a source of raw water from the river. To plan the uprating, background factors must be identified. The next step is analysing uprating mechanism of coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation unit of Jurug WTP. The benefit must be identified. This research is conducted by using primary and secondary data that analysed and evaluated to produce alternative design. Based on the requirement calculation, the capacity of Jurug WTP is projected to increase become 180 L/s. Based on the data evaluation, it shows that the water quality is comply with standard, so the Jurug WTP improvement must focused in the unit design criteria. The choosen alternative on improvement planning of Jurug WTP is by adding existing design modification and adding new units. The selection is based on service percentage increasement, area needed, and project funding availability. Improvement planning is done by modify the flocculation and sedimentation unist and adding a compartement to the coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation unit. The cost requied for this uprating is around Rp. 4,800,000,000 The Uprating in Jurug WTP will add the water production quantity that can be distribute to customer, so their need can be fulfill and community activities will not be distrubed again. text |
