Summary:First of all, Sedulur Sikep is a communitty that formed by Samin Soerosentiko in 1890 during the Dutch colonial administration. It was formed as a rebellion way against the VOC. In this community, there’s a religion was called the Adam's Religion. This religion contains the value of honesty, solidarity and empathy among others. This community lives in teak forests. The first Sedulur Sikep community formed in the Central Java region, then they spread to Bojonegoro. The residences in the Sedulur Sikep settlement is a wooden house. This type of house belongs to the type of Omah Kampung Srotongan. It is one of the traditional Javanese buildings. This raises the research assumption that Omah Srotongan Sedulur Sikep using teak material. It may be affected by the teak forest environment. So the question arises about the meaning of Sedulur Sikep society towards the use of teak in its Omah Srotongan. These reactions become the border of the research problem. Therefore the objectivity of this research is the meaning of teak material in Omah Srotongan Sedulur Sikep Bojonegoro. <br /> <br /> In order to understand the meaning of teak in the Omah Srotongan Sedulur Sikep, this study reviews in terms of historiography and society structure of Sedulur Sikep. Then a comparative study was carried out on the phenomenon of Sedulur Sikep with the environment living in Javanese culture. Studied were made on cosmology in the Javanese living, the structure of Javanese traditional society and the typology of Javanese traditional buildings. According all of those factors, it all compared directly with Sedulur Sikep settlements. So the comparison between the meaning of teak in Omah Srotongan Sedulur Sikep can be traced when analyzed.. <br /> <br /> Generally, the Sedulur Sikep community is a lower class society. The Sedulur Sikep community lives in the forest to isolate themselves from the outside world influences. That was based on the typology of buildings in their settlements. This society don’t have maximum limit when using teak. It can be confirmed that Sedulur Sikep community is an egocentric society. Sedulur Sikep perspective change when using teak on their houses. The ecosystem impact gradually transformed to be the impact of the hidden meaning of teak in Omah Srotongan Sedulur Sikep.
