Summary:CO2 injection is part of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) to increase oil production. CO2 could displace oil by either miscible or immiscible displacement. Minimum miscibility pressure known as MMP is an important key parameter for gas injection design, which is normally determined through very costly and time-consuming laboratory test. 1-D slim-tube simulation has been successfully developed to more accurately, cost-effective, and quick in estimate the CO2 MMP. The MMP of a reservoir fluid was considered as a function of reservoir temperature, composition of oil, and injected gas in the 1-D slim-tube simulation model. CO2 miscible displacement is not feasible in many oil fields due to high reservoir temperature as higher pressure is required to reach miscibility. The miscibility pressure is far higher than the formation fracture pressure making it impossible to have CO2 miscible displacement. In this study, temperature sensitivity is being presented as one factor that affected to CO2 MMP value and reducing the CO2 MMP using some alcohol compounds are performed. It was found that increases of MMP as the reservoir temperature rise and alcohol compounds can decrease the MMP significantly.
