Field observations and surveys were conducted to obtain the

characteristics of the Sudirman area. These results are matched by literature

review that results in tangible and intangible design needs. The results of

observations in the form of photographs into guidelines that will be processed

through sketch design that will then be developed schematically and produce an

ideal alternative design for the area Sudirman Bandung.

In a study focusing on the design of street furniture in the Sudirman Bandung

corridor is to produce an alternative design that suits the needs of activities and

needs visually or in conformity with environmental conditions Sudirman

Bandung. Methodology in the creation of street furniture here can be a

consideration for designers or the government in the procurement of street

furniture in public spaces. It is necessary for the uniqueness in street furniture in a public space in order to bring the character of an area that will impact on the

sense of belonging of the local community.
