Description
Summary:
The limited number of teachers and inadequate infrastructure in remote areas has resulted in difficult access to schools or other educational facilities, causing inequality in the quality of education between urban and remote areas of Indonesia. With the support of the palapa project, a solution came up using multimedia conference technology. The solution is a real time multimedia conferencing system with object tracking features for virtual learning and teaching activity. A central unit subsystem is required to process all device signals used and simultaneously run video conferencing and object tracking applications. The central unit is divided into 6 modules namely, module processing unit, peripheral conversion module, pan and til bracket communication module, central unit software module, air mouse module and central unit support module. The central unit uses Odroid-C2 as a unit processing module that has 1.5 GHz quad core computing capability and 2 GB RAM capacity. The module is functionally tested and performs and results obtained that the central unit is capable of performing functions according to specifications of system.
