Research was carried out by going to the field, taking data on rock, fossil, and groundwater (dug well), and analyzing the sampels in laboratory. This research aim is to reveal geology and hydrogeology of Jetis and the influence of mud volcano in groundwater.

Based on the BMB classification, the research area is divided into five geomorphological units. Those are Guyangan Anticline Denudational Plain Unit, Kesambenkulon Syncline Denudational Plain Unit, Kesambenkulon Syncline Valley Unit, Kedungwaru Anticline Hills Unit, and Kali Mas Aluvial Plain Unit. Stratigraphically, the area can be divided into five non-formal rock units that formed during

Pliocene – Recent epoch and sedimented in open shallow marine to fluvial environment. The sequence, from old to young, is Calcareous Marl Unit, Claystone Unit, Sandstone I Unit, Sandstone II Unit, and Alluvial Unit. Geological structure which developed in the research area is fold, consisting of Kedungwaru Anticline, Kesambenkulon Syncline, and Guyangan Anticline. Based on its lithologic characteristics, aquifers in the research area are Claystone Unit, Sandstone I, Sandstone II, and Alluvial Unit. There are unconfined aquifers in the reseach area. Allowable drinking water quality in TDS and pH in Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 is in 7.7% of the research area. The groundwater pH (degree of

acidity) is 7.09 – 9.01 and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is 223 – 1,258 mg/l, while in the mud volcano pH is 7.98 and TDS is 12,448 mg/l. The groundwater quality in southeast is thought to be affected by the mud volcano.
text
