Beside those services, coastal and marine ecosystems play important role in climate change mitigation by sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and oceans (known as Blue Carbon ecosystems). Furthermore, blue carbon ecosystems can sequester carbon at higher rates than terrestrial forests, per unit area. Valuation of ecosystem services is important to shows the people the role of those ecosystems in human life and if the ecosystems degrade or lost it will affect people. Mapping of ecosystem services is important in valuation method because it will reveals valuable information by makes site specific ecosystem services values available on large scale. To value blue carbon services, the key parameters required are the capacity of mangroves and seagrass in capturing and storing carbon, and economic parameter such as carbon market prices and discount rate. Carbon stocks and carbon sequestration change in blue carbon ecosystems is estimate through field survey by estimate the living biomass and sediment sampling which to be analized in laboratorium later. The valuation shows that the blue carbon services on Pramuka-Panggang Islands is €301,892 or 4,334,816,329 rupiah. This valuation is expected to be the reference to assess the importance of carbon sequestration services on small island ecosystem in climate change mitigation. text
