Description
Summary:Surabaya is known as the second-largest city in Indonesia. The rapid development of this city

turn Surabaya as one of metropolitan city. The vast growing infrastructure of Surabaya is

causing the shift of its historical treasure. One of Surabaya's historical fortunes is the old area

in the northern part of Surabaya which was once the central government. In the colonial era,

this area was divided based on Wijkenstelsel's laws of into into three parts : European, Arab

and Chinese, in which the historical evidence can still be witnessed. This old city area is a

witness to the history of the establishment of Surabaya that needs to be preserved and it

deserves to be one of the historical tourist destinations in Surabaya. Currently there is no

medium that describes the old city of Surabaya as a special tourist destination, thus it is

incentive t introduce the potential of the old city of Surabaya as one of the tourist

destinations. Through observation and literature study focusing on Kampung Arab as the

focus, there can be found the result of acculturation between foreign cultures and local

culture. All of the potentials of the old city as a tourist destination is delivered through

illustrations in the form of visual journals.
