Summary:<p align="justify">Indonesia has the second highest rate of child unintentional injuries worldwide, that is 49 per 100.000 children. Though there are several major causes, toy-related injury is one of the highest contributor. This fact is affirmed by Indonesian Early Childhood Education Teachers Association who would cooperate to increase play quality as well as play safety in schools. After conducting initial survey in 51 early childhood education institutions, it is known that outdoor slide toy has the highest risk of hazard with more than three serious-injury cases per year. Accordingly, this research will focus in redesigning outdoor slide toy with the result that it will satisfy safety and educative needs especially for early childhood education institutions. <br /> <br /> Methodology used in this research is engineering design, divided into six steps. First step is task clarification using objectives tree method. Second step is product specification using House of Quality. Third step is function analysis using FAST and Black Box method. Fourth step is concept development using morfological chart and Pugh matrix. Fifth step is concept embodiment using sketch and embodiment checklist. Sixth step is detailed design in form of computer-aided drawing using Solidworks. <br /> <br /> After conducting all design process, this research achieves an outdoor slide toy design that could fulfill 7 customer needs which are on highest priority out of 25 customer needs. These seven customer needs have comprised at least one indicator from education and safety aspects. The slide design is constructed by closed stairs and handrails, walled platform, straight slide with differentiated angle, sand bedding, and detachable anchor named US4653245 A, decorated with red-blue animal theme.<p align="justify">
