The accumulation of free radicals in the body can trigger the <br /> <br /> formation of oxidative stress which is a condition when harmful oxygen invades biological <br /> <br /> molecules such as lipids, proteins, and DNA. The human body actually has a series of defense <br /> <br /> systems against free radical attacks such as superoxide dismutase. The body must obtain intake of <br /> <br /> antioxidants from outside to prevent the occurrence of bad things that are triggered by free <br /> <br /> radicals. The widely known Annonaceae family have a very potent acetogenin compounds as a <br /> <br /> cytotoxic agent that is often used as an anticancer.This research aims to examine and compare <br /> <br /> the antioxidant activity of soursop leaves from three different areas: Bandung, Bogor, and Malang <br /> <br /> using DPPH and ABTS methods, total phenol and total flavonoid, determinethe correlation <br /> <br /> between total phenol, total flavonoid and IC50 DPPH and IC50 ABTS, determine the correlation <br /> <br /> between IC50 DPPH and IC50 ABTS on sample extract. The extraction of samples was performed by <br /> <br /> reflux method using three solvents with increasing polarity n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. <br /> <br /> Measurements of IC50 DPPH and ABTS, total phenol and total flavonoid were performed using uvvisible spectrophotometry. The correlation between total phenol, total flavonoid and IC50 DPPH <br /> <br /> and IC50 ABTS as well as the correlation between IC50 DPPH and IC50 ABTS were done statistically <br /> <br /> by Pearson correlation method. Total phenol in soursop leaves extract from <br /> <br /> Bandung had significant and negative correlation with IC50 DPPH (r =-0.648, p<0.05) and IC50 ABTS <br /> <br /> (r =-0.851, p<0.01). All soursop leaves extracts from Bandung, Bogor, dan Malang were very <br /> <br /> strong antioxidant. Phenolic compounds have big contribution in antioxidant activity of soursop <br /> <br /> leaves extract from Bandung by DPPH and ABTS methods.
