Description
Summary:Deck on pile jetty systems is another typical of port structure that using a pile as a support

of the main structural elements, the main role of pile is not only as a main structure

support but also as a loads distributor to the soil.

Besides the strength analysis of main port structure, a further analysis of soil resistance

are also important. If the soil characteristic are dominant with a typical of sand, a

reviewed of liquefaction potential analysis has to be considered. Liquefaction in soil

means a phenomenon that occurs in non-cohesion soil for example sand, it struggled from

a natural shocks like an earthquake which generate the water inside the soil pores to raise

and create a loss of connections between soil particles, these leads to a shrinkage in soil

capacity.

This research intended to analyze the existing port structure due to the detection of

potential soil liquefactions. The initial analysis is to figure out the liquefaction potentials

in every layers of soil in order to discover which layer had experienced the liquefactions.

The analysis will proceed by calculating the interaction between the soil and structure

that will be presented in p-y curve, t-z curve, and Q-z curve. These curves represents the

behavior of soil capacity. The p-y curve will be reviewed in 2 conditions which are the

p-y curve on regular sand soil that has not experienced a liquefaction and p-y curves on

the liquefied sand soil.

A finite element software SAP2000 were used to create a structure analysis, every loads

data obtained from the field survey will be used as inputs for structure model in order to

visualize the structure behavior as close as the conditions in reality. There are two

conditions in structure analysis, the first conditions is a normal condition or no

liquefaction, and the second is the condition of earthquake (after-shock) or liquefaction

condition in the soil of foundation.

Every reviewed parameters creates an analysis results for each two structure conditions.

For the first structure condition which does not experienced with a liquefactions, the

structure model in the analysis has a structure durability and soil stability against the

loads. However, in the second analysis where liquefactions had occured, the structure and

soil failure on some parameters.
