Summary: | Bekasi Public Library serves as open-public library for people and students in Bekasi. The library consist of 6 floors with total area of 8100 m2 and building area of 5934 m2. In building planning, plumbing system is one of the systems that is important. One of the plumbing system is wastewater plumbing system for handling wastewater produced from the building. The wastewater produce by the library must be managed well so that there are not problems that affect the health of employees and visitors also the environment . Therefore, it is necessary to design the plumbing system of wastewater. Plumbing system of the library is designed by applying green building concept. Greywater and blackwater are channeled through harvesting and sustainable drainage systems. Calculation of the dimensions of wastewater pipe and ven is done by checking total of plumbing load units allowed for each pipe diameter. Greywater horizontal pipes diameter 32 - 100 mm, and blackwater pipe diameter 50-100 mm. Vent pipes diameter 32-80 mm. Vertical wastewater and vent pipes each has 100-125 mm diameter. Wastewater treatment is designed separately which processed water is flowed to the city’s riol and reused for flushing plumbing and watering plants in library garden. |
