Description
Summary:Background: Exercising in a public sports facility whose position in the middle

of the city has a tendency to be exposed to air pollution, especially PM2,5, which is

sourced from motorized vehicles. The impact of PM2,5 associated with exercise

has not been much in the literature. The purpose of this study was to analyze the

impact of PM2,5 on vital lung capacity, VO2max, and blood lead levels after

exercising at ITB facilities.. Methods: Subjects in this study were Saraga’s ITB

visitors who exercised at night. Measuring PM2,5 and temperature ITB facility

temperature using Origins and Weather Undergrounds. Analyzing of force vital

capacity using SP10 Sprirometer, measurement of energy expenditure using the

Polar H-7 Heart-rate monitor, and analyzing the concentrations of lead in blood

using AAS. Result: After getting treatment at the Saraga ITB. Eksperiment group

produces a force vital capacity 3.77 L, energy expenditure 172.42 kcal, and

concentrations of blood lead levels was 1,01 µg. Conclusion: This study showed

that there was an increase in the value of vital lung capacity during post-test

compared to pre-test, a decrease in energy expenditure during post-test compared

to pre-test, and an increase in blood lead levels during post-test compared to pretest. The results of this study can be a reference so that seeking sports

infrastructure development must pay attention to the topography of the region to

be free from air pollution, especially PM2,5.
