Liquefaction is a phenomenon of reduced shear forces that cause soil to behave like fluids that have no shear capacity (very small). The analysis is qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Qualitative analysis is an analysis conducted by observing the characteristics of the land location, can be with the earthquake data in the past and also from the soil characteristics. If the qualitative analysis does not find liquefaction potential, then no quantitative analysis is necessary. However, if there is potential for liquefaction in qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis is necessary. If based on the two soil analyzes in the location of the potential liquefaction studies it is necessary to evaluate the degree of collapse or failure of the soil due to the liquefaction that will occur using the Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) method, so that it can be determined the depth of soil to be improved and the method to be used. One of the most effective methods to mitigate the collapse of this liquefaction is the vibroreplacement method (commonly called the stone column). In the stone column design process using three methods to evaluate, among others: Priebe method (1995), Baez & Martin method (1993), Baez method (1995). In this study, the stone column design process will be carried out to mitigate the potential for liquefaction in the Tidore Island, North Maluku.<p align="justify"> text |
