KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER READINESS AT PT. AEROTERRASCAN

PT AeroTerraScan Indonesia is a manufacturer of Unmanned Aerial vehicle (UAV). In order to upgrade its products continuously, PT AeroTerraScan continually attempts to implement the transfer of technology (TOT) with other countries which is known as the biggest drone manufacturers. It is inevitable that TOT is greatly needed by companies engaged in the field of technology in order to update the developed products. Yet, there are still major challenges to achieve the effective transfer of knowledge as the knowledge is often ''sticky'' or embedded in the human brain. It makes the ToT extremely challenging for the company that want to achieve perfect knowledge and information. Therefore in this study, the readiness of PT AeroTerraScan Indonesia in conducting the transfer of technology or in this study referred to the knowledge transfer is one of the business issues. The knowledge transfer is measured based on several variables such as trust, cultural alignment, and opennes in diversity. The value of sig for variable of Trust (X1) is 0.288 meaning that the variable of trust does not have significant effect on knowledge transfer readiness (Variable Y) in PT AeroTerraScan. The value of sig for variable of Cultural Alignment (X2) is 0.040 meaning the variable of cultural alignment has a significant effect on knowledge transfer readiness (Variable Y) in PT AeroTerraScan. The value of sig for the variable of Openness in Diversity (X3) is 0.273 meaning that the variable of openness in diversity does not have significant effect on knowledge transfer readiness (Variable Y) in PT AeroTerraScan. The independent variable consisting of trust, cultural alignment and openness in diversity towards the dependent variable of knowledge transfer readiness is only for 21,5% while the rest is 78,5% that is explained by other variables. It is necessary to create a commitment explicitly or implicitly in order to increase trust such as compiling integrity pact, inserting integrity into the incentive system, creating a role model of leader, or compiling code of conduct. The solutions taken by the management of PT AeroTerraScan in creating a good openness in diversity are conducting overseas internship, knowledge sharing and so forth.
