Description
Summary:
Over the past few years, PT. X, one of the biggest FMCG company in Indonesia has been struggling with unwanted performance in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and impacted to its cost per ton (CPT) performance, therefore the company is challenged to be more competitive not only with local company, but also comparing with its sister companies. The research will mainly focus on how to improve the OEE performance thus CPT for the factory will improve The research will use Focused Improvement (FI) 7 Steps methodology under FI pillar in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) to countermeasure the biggest OEE loss in 2017. FI 7 Steps has systematic and logical approach to find out the real root cause and end up with the robust solution therefore it will sustain for long term period. FI 7 Steps will begin with defining the model area with highest OEE loss, continue with building the high skill team, enter the project development with systematic approach and end up with the final solution, standardization and followed up by horizontal expansion for other similar areas. Improvement will be using standard kaizen framework and consist of several tools in lean manufacturing such as 5G, 5W+1H, 5 Whys, Project Network and reviewed by using benefit per cost calculation. Recommendation will be divided into 2 segment which are technical recommendation and general recommendation for the factory. The result after implementation will show that after reducing the highest OEE loss using FI 7 steps, OEE rate will improve, while the resultant indicator such as productivity and electricity consumption will reduce, and final result which is cost will relatively at lower than last year performance.
