Summary: |
Conventional commercial UAV often utilizes the 2.4GHz ISM band for radio control and telemetry. This limits UAV operational range by requiring a constant line-of-sight between UAV and Ground Station. By placing additional telemetry and control system that works using the mobile network, it is possible to control UAV to areas that are otherwise unreachable by conventional radio systems. This opens up more possibilities as to where the UAV can be operated in, such as downtown areas where high-rise buildings often occludes conventional radio system while mobile cellular coverage is highly available. A UAV system called the Zenth that follows the aforementioned principles is then constructed and tested.
|
