The three problems are included into the three main sustainable pillars, in which they are environment, economy, and social. To overcome these problems, the solutions need to focus mainly on maintaining the three sustainable pillars that has been stated. One of the obvious way to prevent these issues is to increase the awareness to this matters among the society. The awareness can be obtained in great number with education. Ecopedagogy is a movement that focuses in giving a teaching and learning about sustainable development. For this movement can be optimized, the facility needed to be supported. And also, the education method that affects great number of people effectively is formal education. In this case, the preliminary education is essential to be the base to one’s mind, because at this stage, it is when a person construct their mindset. This is the reason why this research is taking public primary school as its study case, because public primary school is the largest school franchise in Indonesia. <br /> <br /> <br /> This is a project that uses qualitative research in its preliminary phase. The theory that will be the reference to this research is Ecopedagogy, UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development, C. Kenneth Tanner’s Effect of School Design to Student Outcomes, Heinz Frick’s Ecological building, UNESCO’s Climate Ready School, and Indonesian Government’s Regulation for primary school. For then the parameters are used as the benchmark to design the school. To design and solve the problems through facility, concept, and program in a space in order pursue the vision of ecopedagogy through education for sustainable development in order to educate; as a formal education; to make the user familiar with eco-friendly living, with promoting eco-friendly living with the school design and support the preliminary education in environment and sustainability awareness are the main objective of this project. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result to this project is school design for public primary school that has the main concept of pursuing ecopedagogy through sustainable design. The output is presented in form of work drawing, perspective, modelling through mock up and walk through video. The design is in hope to be applicable in the existing public primary school, so Indonesian children can have better education by supporting and introducing the awareness of sustainability through facility from this project. text |
