Knowledge is a power, but how to use this power into a value add to an organization. Knowledge shall increase the value to organization rather than remain in their employee inside mind. <br /> <br /> This final assignment is focusing on the business development process in the consulting company based on knowledge management. This final assignment is study in PT Neville Clarke Indonesia, a consulting company, on how they develop new business unit based on Knowledge Management. In PT Neville Clarke Indonesia, they have developed the Legal Update and Interpretation services to their clients. The concept and scope of this new business is to collect all the information of the Legal and Regulatory related to the Quality , Health, Safety and Environmental. This information is enrich with the legal interpretation, searching engine for topic and subject and real time updated. . <br /> <br /> The development of search engine for this legal database required the conversion of common vocabulary on any term in the legal document into controlled vocabulary. The legal documents normally have definition defined, which it is clearly defined by the legislator. This is very helpful on develops controlled vocabulary databases which would be used by the search engine. <br /> <br /> The taxonomy guides on development of controlled vocabulary. Each legal document which has similarity on subjects could have similar vocabulary with similar meaning. By convert this into controlled vocabulary then the legal document would become a database with specific keyword. Without controlled vocabulary, then the search engine will not give specific result. <br /> <br /> This business unit shows on how the legal and regulatory data and information that available widely in the internet could be assembled into the systematical databases system that easy to search, identify, read, extract, analyze and synthesize into specific requirements and become an essential part for customer on ensure their compliance to the legal and regulatory requirement.
