Summary: | <p align = "justify">Renun Segment is one segment of 19 segments that exist in Sumatran fault. There are three major seismic activities caused by the movement of Renun segment, the earthquake that occurred in 1916 and 1921 with magnitude of 6.8 and in 1936 with magnitude 7.2. This undergraduate thesis is specifically to calculate vector velocity of GPS station which is situated around Renun Segment of Sumatran Fault and analyze displacement pattern and estimate the value of slip rate of Renun segment. GAMIT/GLOBK 10.6 software is used to process GPS observation data either continuously or periodically. Based on GPS observation data from 2005-2016, The value of GPS station velocity around Renun segment is 15,186 mm to 35,360 mm. The parallel’s velocity vector of GPS station to Renun Segment show that segment Renun of Sumatran Fault is a right lateral strike slip fault. The model that used to estimate the value of slip rate in this research is half elastic dislocation model and 3 assumption values of locking depth is using in estimating process and the best value of slip rate in Renun segment that get from the estimation is 20 + 3.2054 mm with assumption’s value of locking depth is 20 km.<p align = "justify"> |
