Description
Summary:Batang Kuranji is a river that has a high level of vulnerability to the emergence of a dangerous debris flow or so called locally Galodo debris flow that has a high level of sediment concentration consisting of mud, sand, gravel, and rocks. To reduce the potential danger, efforts are made to reduce the flow rate of flood by way of normalization of the river and the manufacture of sediment control building (checkdam). Normalization is done horizontally by way of widening the river. From the hydrological analysis obtained flood discharge 𝑄50 𝑡ℎ = 657 m³ / s. The need for numbers and dimensions of checkdam is based on the quantity of debris sediment that will occur. The result of the calculation obtained by the quantity of sediment flow debris is 35183 m³. With a high checkdam 3.5m check, so construction of 3 checkdams is sufficient to accommodate the debris flow sediment. The stability of the checkdam construction is calculated against bolsters, shear, eccentricity and soil stresses, from the calculation of the stability of the checkdam building fulfilling the requirements (in seismic conditions). The total cost of river normalization and checkdam development is Rp. 90,665,000.00 (Ninety Billion Six Hundred Sixty Five Million Rupiah)
