mTWGS 84 Zone -49.The methods of the research consist of geological mapping and data analysis in the laboratory.

Based on morphology and processes that occur in the study area, then the area is divided into four units of geomorphology, namely Kalijati Volcanic Hill Unit, Kersaratu Homocline Valley, Bojong Karst Hill Unit and Cibodas Alluvial Plain Unit. Drainage patterns of the river in Kersaratu and surrounding area are dendritic, rectangular, and annular with the shape of river's valley ranging between V-U. Geomorphology of studied area is in young to mature geomorphic stage.

Based on lithological characteristics of rocks found in the study area, geological research area is divided into five lithological units namely Breccia Unit, Andesitic Unit, Sandstone Unit, Limestone Unit and Alluvial Deposit Unit. The first deposited unit wasb Breccia Unit deposited with pyroclastic flow mechanism and inside the Breccia Unit was Andesitic Unit as an insertion. Those units are comparable with Jampang Formation aged Oligocene-Early Miocene. Then, based on the analysis of small foraminifera observed in hand specimen, Sandstone Unit was deposited aligned above the Breccia Unit in the Middle Miocene age and have depositional environment Middle – Outer Neritic and can be compared to Pamutuan Formation. Limestone Unit was deposited aligned above Sandstone unit in the Middle-Late Miocene age and have depositional environment

Middle Neritic also have interfingering characteristic.According to the characteristic of its

lithology, Limestone Unit can be compared with Calcareous Division Pamuntuan Formation.
|
