Description
Summary:Storage (CCS) program.

CCS program will be held on well X. This well is an exploration well converted to CO2 injection well. Cement used in this well is Portland cement which is commonly used in oil conventional well, thus, for converting this well to be CO2 injection well, a squeezing program is needed using CO2 resistant cement. Cement evaluation of squeeze cementing program is necessary to ensure that the injected CO2 gas will not release to the surface.

This study focus on cement evaluation before and after squeezing program in well X. The evaluations are geological evaluation, evaluation on the cement before squeezing program from Cement Bond Log / Variable Density Log (CBL/VDL) data and evaluation on the cement after squeezing program using the result of cement evaluation tool. Evaluation also done on squeeze method and the cement used in squeezing program.

This study concludes that evaluation from CBL/VDL data shows poor quality of the cement so squeezing program is needed. Evaluation of cement evaluation tool data also shows the cement quality has not met the engineering requirement. The squeeze method also has deficiencies to control the cement spread. Nevertheless, the cement used in squeezing program has compressive strength value required to withstand the bottomhole injection pressure.
