Tangerang Station is located in the center of Tangerang City surrounded by commercial and residential areas with high activity intensity. The station is packed with commuters from Tangerang and surrounding districts who travel to Jakarta and vice versa. Increased number of passengers encouraged PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to revitalize Tangerang Station to improve the capacity and quality of service from the station. The project is located on a land that will co-exist with the planned superblock mixed-used. Identity issues as Train Stations and human movement are the main focus in designing Tangerang Station. The issue of sustainability is also the issue of Station design in response to climate change. The design of this station is expected to be a landmark that accommodates the human

movement around the planned superblock area. The building design must also meet the standards and requirements to fulfill the required functions. The project design took the big concept of "Streams of Movement" embodied with the concept of shape, facade, space, and site that reflect the dynamic impression. The building design took the analogy of aerodynamic airflow of the train. The building will have two floors with steel as the main structure and space truss as roof structure with ACP as roofing material. The site is designed to provide a wide space for humans and green open space for environmental contributions. Building utilities refer to the concept of sustainability by maximizing natural light and air. The design is hoped to can create a culture and mindset of fun walking.
text |
