One form of clean water supply in accordance with the concept of community participation is the means of communal clean water. The communal clean water infrastructure is a clean water supply whose development and management is carried out by the community with small service scales. Successful development of community-based communal water infrastructure strongly depends on community participation in managing it. Frequently communal facilities that have been built by the community become dormant due to the inability of the community users in managing the infrastructure. Therefore, participation has an important position in the successful of infrastructure development, especially community-based infrastructure. One of the community-based communal water infrastructure is located in RW 7 and RW 8, Lebak Siliwangi Urban Village, Bandung City. The form of community participation in the development stage of communal clean water infrastructure in both areas is largely in the form of money, and the form of participation in the maintenance stage of infrastructure is in the form of tariffs in each region. Subsequently, the level of participation in RW 7 and 8 is in the medium level of communal water infrastructure development stage, and in the maintenance stage, the participation level in RW 7 is in the low level, and RW 8 is in the medium level. By using comparative analysis through Mann-Whitney U method, it was found that there was a significant difference level of community participation in the maintenance stage of communal clean water infrastructure, whereas in the development stage there was no significant difference. The difference level of participation is related to the clean water condition in both RW, where the quantity and quality of communal clean water in RW 8 is better than in RW 7, whereas at the beginning of development stage both have the same quantity and quality, it can be said that the level of community participation in maintenance of communal water infrastructure has an important role in determining the success of communal clean water services. Then, by using correlational analysis through Kendall-Tau B method, it is found that the level of community participation in communal water infrastructure management is influenced by several factors, namely social factors with the variables of relationship with the surrounding community in the infrastructure development stage, as well as social factors with organizingexperiences variable, and physical factors with age and duration of living variables in the maintenance stage of communal clean water infrastructure. text
