Summary:Disability is still considered as a taboo for Indonesian people. It then leads to discrimination in many variety of life (Rakhmat, 2017). The lack of social interaction between people with disability and non-disability also needs more attention. If the problem continues to be ignored, it can have an impact on social barriers, degradation of the quality of life and leads to the decline of the welfare of the Indonesia (Rakhmat, 2017).

In this final project, a public facility is designed in the form of Inclusive Activity Center. Inclusive can be interpreted as a society that is able to accept various forms of diversity and accommodate it into various existing structures or infrastructures in society (The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2008). The Inclusive Activity Center is planned to be located in Bandung City, West Java Province. This is considering the city of Bandung has been declared as an Inclusive City by the Mayor of Bandung, in 2015 (Miftah, 2015). Inclusive Activity Center is expected to help the government actualizing Indonesian people as an inclusive society and be a place for social interaction of people from various backgrounds through fun activities programme, accessible facilities and well interior design with consideration of accessibility, security, comfort, health and aesthetic aspects (Baskara, 2011).

The conclusion of final project shows that a good design is a design that is acceptable for all people related to their behavior and characteristic differences. By applying the universal design concept to the interior design elements, it generates the appropriate design to meet the needs of user activities for both people with disabilities and people without disabilities. There are some important findings of interior design elements as a result of the universal design concept application in Inclusive Activity Center, including: (1) Circulation size is wide enough for two wheelchair passing by; (2) The Form of space composition, walls and furnitures are curved to avoid sharp edges (edgeless) for safety aspect; (3) Ceiling height is adjusted considering the differences perspective between wheelchair user or children and someone’s perspective while standing; (4) Strip line lightings are

applied at walls and ceilings as guides for wayfinding; (5) Braille textures are applied as tactile signage at wall handrails (6) The use of colors are neutral (not striking) colors to minimize the occurrence of distractions in people with autism.
