PHYSICS ASPECTS OF GAS PRODUCTION DECLINE MODEL, CASE STUDY IN SUBANG GAS FIELD

The indication of production decline is a common thing that happened in one gas field, this phenomenon is due to reserves depletion and decreasing of reservoir’s pressure. The production decline is also related to an economic limit (production costs and demands...

The production decline is also related to an economic limit (production costs and demands) so when a well or field is reachs an economic limit value, that could be considered to be plugged or abandoned. The observation of well or field production performance drops can be seen by two segments, those are decreasing of gas flow rate trend and reservoir’s pressure drop trend. Statistically, production decline can be explained by Arps’s production decline models based on the variation of gas flow rate over time and the relation of cummulative production with time. The explanation of production performance’s drop can also be described by variation of flow pressure, this can be presented through Inflow Performance and Tubing Performance. By these two segments can be expected to give a comprehensive views about production decline indication of well or gas field.
text
