Description
Summary:South Tangerang City still rely on Cipeucang Landfill as municipal solid

waste final disposal. Along with the population growth and limited areas in the landfill,

certain waste processing mechanisms are needed to reduce the amount of waste to be

dumped in landfill. Material recovery facility (MRF) will be located on two sites, with

total area of 949 m2 and capacity of 10,800 kg traditional market waste per day. Waste

treatments using composting and recycling inorganic waste are selected considering the

dominant type of waste in Cipeucang Landfill which is organic waste and plastic waste.

Bokashi composting method is chosen based on the result of scale calculation

considering land area required, economic aspects, human resources, as well as

operational and maintenance. Workflows in MRF are listing the incoming waste, waste

sorting, organic waste treatment, plastic waste treatment, and hazardous waste

treatment. The number of employees needed by Cipeucang Landfill MRF are 24 people

with operational budget is Rp 3.739.061.353,50 per year.
