Jatigede Strategic Area is an artificial dam area which function has been developed from a mere facility for electricity and water infrastructure into educational and recreational facilities. Therefore, there is a new scheme of land usage, which is tourism activities along with supporting facilities. Accommodation is one of the necessary function to support the development. In order to cater the needs, a place to stay is needed to be built, such as hotels, etc. <br /> <br /> Star hotels accommodate activities according to needs analysis. In this area, in order for tourist to enjoy their travel, a 3-star hotel is selected to be the most suitable. This is because the typical tourists do not need luxurious amenities while keeping the service cater the needs of guest comfort. With this arrangement, guests will be able to rest well after a long day enjoying touristic features in the region. This project is in cooperation with PT Grahawita Santika to design a Santika Hotel. It is located at Fatmawati Street, which is in accordance with government zoning designation. The site borders with the forest in the north, other hotels land in the west and east side, and the mosque and the reservoir <br /> <br /> sights in the south. This project is initiated as the face of the region with total area of 10,000 sqm. <br /> <br /> In the design process, the hotel prioritizes functional issues, which includes physical comfort, service-guest-leisure-room zoning approach, and user analysis with its activities; the initiator's issue, by promoting beautiful scenery of room's view, analysis of targeted market, and the image of the building; issues on land contexts, on local regulations that are prioritized to be a tool for promoting the design of the building's façade, reflecting the image of the initiator, and the contour of the land; as well as issues of certain licensing. Everything is summed up in a concept called Sumedang Kacida. <br />
