Indonesia's position as it traverses coal traffic from Australia and South Africa to the East Asia coal market is an opportunity for Indonesia to take advantage of its position as world coal supply, to form a special department with large scale Coal Blending Facility (CBF) facilities. With international standard blending facilities, Indonesia can play a role as a world coal supplier, with coal resources from Indonesia and other supplier countries. This study aims to determine which sites should be prioritized in the development of CBF in Indonesia. By using Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method, that is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) using 5 criteria and 4 alternative location. These criteria include Increase of Coal Added Value, Security of Domestic Coal Supply, Coal Volume to be Processed, Cost-Efficient, and Multiplier Effect, with alternative locations in Banten, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and South Sumatra. The multi-criteria framework is used to support the decision-making process in developing renewable energy in Indonesia. The weight of the criteria is determined using the pairwise comparison matrices of the AHP method, and the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Techique (SMART). The results show the best ratings are 1) South Kalimantan; 2) East Kalimantan; 3) South Sumatra; 4) Banten. This research is expected to be useful for the government in determining which location is a priority in the development of CBF in Indonesia. text
