MAPPING THE POTENTIAL OF HYDROCARBON RESERVOIR IN ̉̉X̉̉ FIELD OWNED BY PT.PERTAMINA HULU ENERGI ONWJ WITH EXTENDED ELASTIC IMPEDANCE INVERSION AND SHEAR WAVE PREDICTION (VS) USING GENETIC ALGORITHM
The development of oil and gas research exploration is becoming more attractive than in the past few decades because easier exploration has generally been done in almost all exploration areas.More accurate ground subsurface analysis is needed to minimizing the failure of exploration activities. Seismic inversion is one of the exploration methods used by geophysicist to characterization the reservoir. Acoustic impedance (AI) is one of the inversion methode. This inversion change seismic data into P-impedance that can be used to predict rock porosity and lithology. However, sometimes predictions become dubious when rocks have a combination effect of physical properties (porosity and fluid). Therefore, additional information of S wave velocity (Vs) is required for the identification the fluid. One of the inversion that utilizes Vs data is Inversion Elastic Impedance (EI). But the EI still has a shortage of limitations in the range of the incident angle (0°-30°). So the EEI (Extended Elastic Impedance) method appears as a solution the limitation range of EI by convert sin²???? in EI equation to tan ?. When ? (chi) is a function of ????. ? (chi) have a wider range of angle, that is from (-90°) to 90°. By using the EEI method, the ambiguity of the interpretation of sub-surface hydrocarbon content can be minimized. So the risk of failure in the exploration can also be minimized. text |
