Summary: | This thesis research is about the value of the passenger car unit (p.c.u.) and the actual and theoritical value of saturation flow in Bandung. The scope of the study covered three objectives namely to determine the passenger car unit value of each category of vehicles, the saturation flow and the relationship of the saturation flow and width of approach. To determine the p.c.u. value, two approaches at two signalized junctions in Bandung were observed. To determine the saturation flow value, eight appro.-,aches at eight signalized junctions in Bandung were observed. The measurement of the width of approach were included in this study in order to obtain the relationship between saturation flow value and width of approach. The final results were as follows: (1) Coefficients of p.c.u.: Car= 1.00; Light vehicle/Mini bus = 1.25; Opelet = 0.60; Motorcycle 0.20; Heavy truck = 2.25; Bus = 2.62; Bemo 0.52; Becak = 0.93 (2) The equation of the relationship between saturation flow and width of approach was: S = - 12,33 X2 + 569.87 X + 223.16 p.c.u./hr inhere X = width of approach in metres This was valid for X > 3.00 metres. The greatest road width observed was about 15 metres |
