Description
Summary:

Humankind’s life is arguably inseparable from technology, as what could be said to be the extension of the human body itself which has been assisting them ever since prehistoric times. Technological advancements has now brought humankind to the digital age where daily needs can be fulfilled with increased efficiency, almost instantaneously. It enables humans to achieve things that are previously impossible to accomplish, as though giving them much more freedom to do anything, but instead seems to shape their behavior into that of a uniformity, a change also felt within the author herself.
"Homo Ducitur" is an interactive installation work born of the author's own anxiety and curiosity in regard to humankind’s position among technological advancement, attempting to invite the appreciators to take another look at the situation where humans are now dominated by technology through their daily lives as a means to contemplate.

The work presents four pieces of robot-like object depicting domination through visual and sound. The choice is then given to appreciators, whether if they would allow technology to dominate them or to retaliate, which could be carried out by triggering the kinetic mechanism of the work which then produces sounds. The movement of kinetics and the pure sounds produced by these mechanisms collides with sounds that are digitally processed as a form of retaliations by humans to the dominance of the technology.
